Such a great changing pad. It’s made of a spongy / bouncy material that is waterproof. It also has a slight incline which allows pee to flow downward if your baby has an accident while changing. Not glamorous, but important.
Part night light, part sound machine, part clock. The Hatch Rest+ is a game changer. It links to an app on your phone that lets you change the brightness and color of the light, as well as the volume of the sound, even if you’re not home. It has so many white noise options as well as a few lullabys in the mix. We travel with it and take it everywhere with us. If i could marry a night light, I would marry the Hatch Rest+. Sorry Mr. SWH..
Bumco Bum Spatula
Ok, this may seem like the stupidest thing ever. And maybe it is. But to me, it was a diaper change game changer. Bum creams are thick, they don’t dissolve easily and they get stuck under your nails. The Bumco bum spatula is an easy way to put diaper cream on your baby without wanting to shoot yourself after. We used to keep a travel sized one in the diaper bag when our daughter was little.
Nanit Baby Monitor
Another item I feel very very strongly is worth the splurge if you can afford it. The Nanit is great because it links to your phone via an app, and gives you awesome insights about your kiddos sleeping (how long ago they fell asleep, how often they were picked up at night, etc.) as well as things like temperature and humidity in the room. If you are a psycho control freak like me, the Nanit will be your soulmate.
OXO Wipes Dispenser
Another one that seems kinda stupid but really really isn’t. One of my biggest pet peeves is trying to pull a wipe with one hand, while trying to hold baby down with another hand, and instead of getting one wipe, you get 100 wipes. The OXO wipes dispenser has a weighted plate that helps you make sure you only get one at a time. It is also sealed so beautifully that wipes don’t dry out and are always fresh. You can thank me later.
Ubbi Diaper Bin
All i can say is i had to track one of these down during the covid era and it was not fun trying to find it but oh so worth it. It’s now available in a zillion colors on Amazon. Beautiful design and color options. Seals and locks perfectly (because otherwise, eww). And the best part is, it doesn’t need special bags. You can use any trash bags with it and they are super easy to change.
